Australian Government Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan

Our RAP Working Group (RAPWG) is a team of dedicated staff, including our Reconciliation and Indigenous Champions, from diverse areas of the Department, brought together by a drive to improve the experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and stakeholders. Our Reconciliation Champion chairs the RAPWG and our Indigenous Champion participates in meetings and sub-group activities. Members of the RAPWG come from all areas across the Department and Divisions are regularly surveyed to ensure that they are fairly represented on the RAPWG. Proudly, our members are represented across the staffing levels, where everyone is invited to participate and contribute to reconciliation outcomes. Members from the Mara Network also participate on the RAPWG, and we actively ensure that the Mara Network are consulted on RAP initiatives, and seek the views of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff as key stakeholders. There is an open invitation for all staff to join our RAPWG at any time. The Inclusion and Diversity Team promote this through regular internal communications, and through awareness raising during Reconciliation and NAIDOC Weeks. Love Your Networks Day, held in February each year, is another engaging way where we connect with staff, invoking the enthusiasm and drive of our people to make corporate contributions and to drive positive change and growth in our reconciliation space.

In 2021, our RAPWG is due to formally meet in May, June, July, October and November. Meetings for 2022 and 2023 will be set in January of both years. Members also meet and connect informally through workshops and events.
