Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan

Since 2011, PM&C has been a proud participant of the APS Jawun Secondment Program. The Jawun Secondment Program has been a rewarding opportunity for PM&C employees to drive important outcomes with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations by sharing our expertise.

The Jawun organisation notes that the partnership with First Nations leaders, organisations and communities ‘leads to lasting, material and measurable improvements in the lives of Indigenous people in those communities’.

In 2019–20 we supported eight of our high-performing APS6 to EL2 employees to complete a virtual or onsite Jawun secondment with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations across Australia, including North East Arnhem Land, Cape York, Central Coast, East Kimberly and Far West Coast.

PM&C employees have a range of unique skills, experiences and knowledge to share with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to support First Nations-led efforts. From policy, economics and law to data management, human resources and finance, our secondees are utilising their skills to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders, organisations and communities to achieve their own development goals.

Our secondees often gain a renewed enthusiasm and return with informed insights of the challenges and opportunities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and their communities.
